Summer is here

Summer is here

And I have a broken leg.  It’s been 2 weeks since I missed that last stair.  How I wish there was a rewind button.  I had a whole summer planned out in the studio, on my bike and kayaking.

This Thursday I will finally get in to see the bone doctor and find out what they are going to do.  Covid times,  emergency just gets you out as fast as possible, gone are the days when you go in with a break, they set it, cast it and you are on your way.

so this has meant no studio time for me,  rather I have been filling my time working on my drawing skills and teaching myself to use watercolours.  I’m surprised how much I am enjoying the immediacy of completing a project.  I have to admit I have been using a lot of that knowledge I gained from art school in my most difficult class “drawing” .  It was a huge chore to do one sketch a day.  And here I am now sketching with an obsession to teach myself to see what I am looking at and then try to capture the emotion.
